Do you have your kid’s birthday coming up? You
would love to make it more special, right? Why not give your kid the gift of homemade
candies and treats? Your son or daughter will love the treats made by you. Get
some hard candy molds of different
shapes and you are ready to roll.
Candy molds are available in a variety of
shapes such as jack ‘o’ lantern, star, bowtie bunny, heart, owl, skull, angel, Halloween-themed,
candy canes, gingerbread and many more. Usually made from rubber or plastic,
candy or chocolate moulds can also
be used for making other things like jello jigglers and ice cubes for special occasions.
Different candy molds are meant for different
types of candies. For instance, some are designed for making chocolates while
others are meant to make suckers. Shop around for some interesting shapes and
then have fun with the candy-making.
For personal touch, you can use different
colored chocolate or mix chocolate with other ingredients and pour the mixture
in the hard candy molds. This way, you can give your child
chocolate candies in his/her favorite color. If he or she has a favorite sports
team, you can make candies in that color too.
Wondering whether these molds are difficult
to clean? Don’t worry. Here’s how to clean the molds in easiest possible way:
Take a lint-free cloth and some mild
detergent. Wipe the traces of candy from the molds, rinse the molds with warm
water so that tough particles wash away, add two to three drops of mild
detergent to the water if necessary, soak the molds in the water for a few
minutes and wipe them softly with the lint-free cloth. Make sure the molds are
absolutely dry before putting them back in the shelf or wherever you keep them.
Even if you are not organizing your kid’s
birthday party and you have a knack for cooking, you can have a lot of fun with
chocolate moulds. You can sell candies at a bake sale or
give sweet treats to your friends and family.
