Cowboy-themed birthday
parties are so popular that supplies for them are always available. You will
find all the western birthday party stuff you need such as piƱatas, bandanas, boot
mugs, cowboy balloons, sheriff’s badges, cowboy hats and of course, themed
tableware. Your party decorations
list can include a farm and barnyard, horses, roping cattle, barn and so on.
First Things First
You need to decide on the
date and time of the party first. Cowboy parties are more enjoyable in the
evening because campfire suits the darkness better. However, you must keep in
mind the bedtime for your child and his/her friends. The party must be over
before their bedtime. So, plan accordingly.
Guest List
Prepare your guest list. Tell
your child to give you a list of names. You should include the names of your
close friends, neighbors and relatives as well. Set this dress code for the
party – crumpled shirts, jeans and boots.
Menu
It’s a birthday, so there
must be a birthday cake. If you’d like to bake the cake yourself, check out a
few cake tins online to save time. Aside
from the cake, decide what’s going to be on the menu. Foods like hot dog, chips,
and roasted marshmallows go very well with the cowboy theme.
Decorations
Coming back to party decorations, get photos of each
friend of your son or daughter and create “wanted” posters for them. For this,
you may have to contact the parents of those children and trace the photos on
parchment-colored paper. Create a “saloon” sign and hang it outside your front
door.
Get some bandanas, cowboy
hats, lariats and a saddle or two. Hand each child a bandana and a cowboy hat
as they arrive. A great addition to western-themed parties is a stack of hay
bales. Pile the bales up in one corner of the room to add to the decoration or let
the kids use them as tables or for seating.
After
dinner, let the kids sit around the campfire and tell tales. You and the other
parents can join them and read from storybooks. Let western theme music play in
the background but not loudly. That’s an evening your daughter or son will thank
you for.Blog resource:
